Starting with advertorials and marketing writing for local, publications, Kimberly won bronze in the Galveston.com Best Local Writer contest in 2019. Around the same time, Kimberly branched out, and published the first of the How To Monster Guides-How to Scare a Monster-from an idea she had about 10 years before. It all started when her kitten swooped in and saved her from a huge spider that was closing in for the kill. From there she got to thinking about what scared the scary things and How to Scare a Monster was born. 

Though she loved the monsters, Kimberly still hadn’t written “the book”. Deciding to go with her first love, and always doing too much, she started two cozy mystery series. One, about a woman who inherits a magic ring, and the problems that go with it. Set in Galveston, Tx this wacky story take twists and turns that sees Katie Kingston, the protagonist, as the main suspect in a murder. The second and newest series, about Windy Michaels, a witch who comes in to her magic and is whisked away to the Charming Spells Falls, town in which she should have grown up. Because of how long her line lives, she reverts to her twenty-five year old self as soon as she hits town, and along with her familiar and tortoise best friend, Sedgewick. She inherits a large family, a PI business, and a whole bunch of trouble that she’s hoping she may be able to figure out with the cute detective in town.

When Kimberly isn’t writing she can be found catering to her three dogs, Ellie, Maddy, and Lebowski, her hedgehog Dr. Edmund Hamstervielle, and of course a tortoise(though his name is Slick) and a fish named Alpha Betta (Alba for short), or hanging out with her ever-patient husband, and main editing guy, Chester.
